Strandhill Co. Sligo
Strandhill Co. Sligo is a beautiful coastal village located along the wild atlantic way. situated at the base of on the Cúil Irra (Coolera) peninsula in Sligo Bay, and faces the Atlantic Ocean. Although the main part of the village lies within the townland of Strandhill, it also extends into the townlands of Killaspugbrone and Carrowbunnaun.
Surfing
Strandhill is generally considered to be one of the best beach breaks in the country and over the years has consistently produced Ireland’s top surfers. If you have never surfed and would like to try, Strandhill Surf School is the centre of surfing in the village. You can take a lesson with one of our great local surf schools where all equipment is provided.

Walks
Knocknarea/Queen Maeve trail
A steep trail up the front face of Knocknarea, through Coillte forests via sections of raised boardwalk, before arriving at the spectacular summit of Queen Maeve's resting place.
Killaspugbrone
A pleasant walk starting at the beach and leading to the ruins of an ancient church.
Culleenamore
A quiet, sandy beach with views of Strandhill Golf Club, a great spot to do some seal watching.
